Berkeley Place

The Berkeley Place neighborhood in Fort Worth, which commonly includes the Cheltenham subdivision, is located approximately two miles southwest of the Fort Worth Central Business District. Rich in history, this cozy nook was initially part of the 1850 Mexican

Government's Peters Colony. Notably, Berkeley Place boasts the most active homeowner's association in Fort Worth. Founded in 1976, the Berkeley Place Association is governed
by a board of elected officers and a representative from each street. Street meetings are held regularly and members receive the association's monthly newsletter, "Berkeley Place Poobah."

The Berkeley Bash is a dinner usually held at the end of the school year for the whole neighborhood. Fall activities include a scarecrow contest or a pumpkin paint-in. Awards are given to the "Yard of the Month" by Berkeley garden clubs. At Christmas the ornamental street lights are usually decorated.
