Very little has changed in Aledo since it was was platted. There are covered sidewalks, family owned stores and railroad tracks that have been there for decades. The school has grown, and a fire department was formed forty years ago.

Aledo, Texas History
Aledo, Texas is a small town in Parker County, west of Fort Worth. Aledo was first discovered by settlers from the nearby Clear Fork Valley of the Trinity River. In 1879, the Texas & Pacific Railroad built tracks going through the valley, and a town began to spring up. It was named Aledo, after the hometown of a railroad official in 1882.
